In the summer of 2018, the heat was so unbearable that the drought exposed signs. Visually resembling crop circles, but what had appeared were marks of earlier settlements and roads in crop fields, marks from historical buildings that had not been seen or known for several centuries. Without ruins or any other fragment exposing their previous history, their only presence was latent within the ground. These markings made nature into a camera of its own, making visible its own mnemonic images, revealing the lines of its past.
This series of images presents several found images documenting these marks, re-photographed with a 35mm camera.
